This is not Couching Tiger… but I love this film. I love the melodrama within the wuxia genre. I love the way the story is constructed, building on a series of suspense and revealing them one by one. I love the way every character is given a space to develop, even the minor ones, like the Magician. I love the way every character is given motivations for their actions, including the villain. When the final secret is revealed, you somehow empathise with him.
