The showpiece in the middle of Christopher Nolan’s last installment of the Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, which offers the full extent of the film’s antagonist Bane’s villainy, in the guise of a revolution, when he says, “I’m Gotham’s reckoning. Here to end the borrowed time you’ve all been living on.”

Then Deggett says, “You’re pure evil.”

And, Bane’s rejoinders: “I’m necessary evil.”
