After their undying, if unequal, friendship is put to test in favour of integrity and honour, with Thomas Becket, now the Archbishop of Canterbury, returning the ring of four lions to his king, thus telling that their friendship is over, Henry the Second, the proud king, declares his true feelings for his friend.
