Kon-Tiki








After days of uncertainty, the Balsa raft finally finds its designated course, from Peru to Polynesia, 8,000 km or 5,000 mile on the pacific ocean, and the men aboard Kon-Tiki, Thor Heyerdahl and his companions finally relax under the sky in the open sea, and discuss how they have followed the same stars that those travellers followed more than 3,000 years ago.

In Kon Tiki, the Norwegian feature film on the famous Kon-Tiki adventure. The film was shortlisted for the best foreign language film Oscar this year. The black & white silent film that the crew of the Kon Tiki raft had recorded had won an Oscar in 1952.

Kon-Tiki is a 2012 Norwegian historical drama film about the 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. It is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. The role of Thor Heyerdahl is played by Pål Sverre Valheim Hagen. The film has been selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, making the January shortlist. The film was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 70th Golden Globe Awards.
