Capitaine Conan

After World War I, French infantry officer Capitaine Conan and the men under his command find it difficult to stay in Bucharest, mobilized yet ordered not to fight. While being tired of guard duty and state dinners they are subject to attacks from Romanian Bolsheviks but mustn't take pre-emptive action. Their anger drives them into committing crimes which lead to court-martial trials. Captaine Conan and Lt. Norbert team up to save the life of a man who is sentenced to death for a desertion that he claims he didn't commit.

Capitaine Conan (1996) is a French language film, directed by Bertrand Tavernier.
