Such prophetic was the title of his last film — ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’! He continued to make movies till he was alive; teaching generations of us Indians the meaning of love, romance and giving us the opportunity to dream inside the darkness of movie theatres. The man may be no more but his legacy of timeless films — from Dhool Ka Phool (1959) to Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), and everything in between, Waqt (1965), Daag (1973), Deewaar (1975), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Trishul (1978), Silsila (1981), Mashaal (1984), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), Darr (1993) — will remain with us forever. Yash Chopra is dead. Long live Yash Chopra — in our hearts, in our collective imagination.
