Introducing Freud

It was one of the most significant events of the last century, Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis meeting his student, disciple and ultimately bitter rival Carl Jung, who gave us the idea of collective unconsciousness (Freud was a Jew and Jung Aryan, you see!).

In David Cronenberg’s new film ‘A Dangerous Method’ (2011), Freud, played with extraordinary gravitas by Viggo Mortensen, explains the meaning of his ideas to Jung, played by Michael Fassbender.
