The Adventures Of Tintin

In Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’, Tintin, as we all know, is a journalist. At one point in the film, he actually shows the misplaced ego of a true journalist, as a person who knows everything about everything, but actually knows nothing about anything, the proverbial jack of all trade (and master of none.)

The film itself is a ‘Raiders to the Lost Ark’ in animation. At one point, after their boat is burned down, Tintin and Captain Haddocks hijack a plane. As Tintin fiddles with the user manual of the plane, captain Haddocks asks: “You do know what you are doing, eh, Tintin?”

“More or less,” Tintin answers.

“Well, which is it,” the captain asks, “More or less?”

And Tintin answers, the classic journalist: “Relax. I interviewed a pilot once.”
