The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Directed by: Louis Leterrier
Writers: Zak Penn (screenplay)
Starring: Edward Norton (Bruce Banner), Liv Tyler (Betty Ross), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky), William Hurt (Gen. Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross), Tim Blake Nelson (Samuel Sterns)

After the grand debacle of Hulk's first outing in the big screen in 2005, directed by Ang Lee and starring Eric Bana and Jeniffer Connelley, you would wonder they would never think of the big, bad, angry monster again. You are wrong. Hunk is back. And what surprises you most is the presence of Edward Norton as Hulk or his alter ego, whatever his name is. You associate Norton as a serious actor, not a superhero type, at least not as one who specialises in becoming green and angry. What surprises you more is the fact that Norton co-wrote the script as well. How far this fascination for superheroes (or villain) can go!
Hulk is a misunderstood character even in the comic book world, and even without going into Lee's father-son complexities, there are possibilities to explore the character in interesting light. But this time, Marvel comics does not want to take any risk. It set out to make a summer blockbuster and if you ask me, it succeeds...
It's sad actually, I am writing this blog three weeks after the seeing the film and frankly, I don't remember much about it. One thing, I was not really bored, yet, I was not thinking, I must get a DVD of the movie later. You know what I mean.
We expect great things from Norton, and from very beautiful Liv Taylor. She is probably one of the reasons to watch the film. Time-pass stuff, really.
Wonder why am I writing about it!!
No, it's a superhero film and I must write about it.
